LAGANGILANG, ABRA – The Abra State Institute of Sciences and Technology (ASIST) recently took a significant step towards enhancing the welfare of its employees with the ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Pag-IBIG Fund on November 27, 2024 at the Office of the President, Administration Building, ASIST Main Campus, Lagangilang, Abra. The signing ceremony paved the way for the mandatory membership registration of all Contract of Service Faculty and Job Order Employees in the Pag-IBIG Fund.

Linguistic Bridges: Cultivating Youth Communication Skills for Stronger Community Connections

The extension program titled “Linguistic Bridges: Cultivating Youth Communication Skills for Stronger Community Connections” initiative underscored the essential role of language communication in effective leadership, particularly for barangay and youth leaders who serve as vital connectors within their communities. Implemented by the Languages and Social Sciences Department of the Abra State Institute of Sciences and Technology (ASIST), the program was conducted on November 9–10, 2024, in Manabo, Abra. It aimed to bridge generational gaps, foster inclusivity, and address societal challenges. By equipping youth leaders, barangay officials, and health workers with enhanced language and communication skills, the program empowered them to engage constituents more effectively, foster unity, and lead with impact.
The Youth Ambassadors Camp—Luzon
The Youth Ambassadors Camp—Luzon, sponsored by the Presidential Communications Office, took place from December 3-5, 2024, at the 456 Le Grande Hotel in Baguio City. Two representatives from the institution joined the camp: Ms. Novy Ann B. Neri, a member of the Technocrat editorial board of the Bangued Campus, and Ms. Emmarie T. Pineda, Student Government President of the Lagangilang Campus. Accompanying them was Dr. Dylan Edward R. Raranga, the Technocrat adviser.

The General Administrative Support Services (GASS), under the leadership of Chief Administrative Officer Mr. Elizier B. Lazo and the efforts of Ms. Lory Mae Del Rosario, who served as the proponent and coordinator, successfully hosted a seminar titled "Innovative Workspaces: Leveraging Technology for Maximum Productivity and Inclusivity" from November 20-22, 2024, in Baguio City. The event was attended by 45 participants from various offices within the GASS Department. The resource speaker, Dr. Engr. Beverly Estephany P. Ferrer, a specialist in the Information Technology industry and a professor at the prestigious Saint Louis University, provided valuable insights on the topic.
